all that glitters - friday night

just in case you don't already have 50 million holiday parties and
family get-togethers this weekend....
we wanted to let you know we'll be open late friday for the 'all that
glitters' festivities in clayton.
stop by to shop, have a glass of prosecco with us, then take a free
carriage ride, roast some chestnuts at araka or luciano's, and wrap it
up with fireworks at shaw park. a pretty fun way to spend a winter
evening!

happy holiday time!

hey all!
its true, we waited as long as we could, but it's time!
the tree is up, and we've started getting adorable holiday party
dresses and cozy sweaters and jackets.
our 'tree theme' this year is 'south beach christmas', and we've
gathered up all kinds of groovy decor and ornaments that go along
with it.

Let's Celebrate!

ok, so we're open.  and we're celebrating.  in fact we've pretty much been celebrating since last friday, our first official day open at 'new lusso'. 

and we were thinking, who do we really want to pop open a bottle of prosecco and hang out with?  you, of course!  so a happy hour is in store, right?  no pun intended.  

this thursday, october 18th, yeah, it short notice, but we're excited...  stop in anytime between 5 and 8, have a cocktail, hang out with friends, get a 10% discount, sign up for some awesome drawings ($500 gift certificate, anyone?).

That's right!  New Lusso is open!

ok, one more day

Sooooo..... the city and apparently the 'concrete gods' say we must
hold out one more day. we wanted to open today, october 11th, but we
do not have 'egress' in the front and back of the store, so we will
officially be open friday october 12th. there should be
complimentary valet out front and plenty of self park in the garage.
you might still have to enter from the back door, we're not sure.
the good news is , our sign is up! and its gorgeous!
so come find us tommorrow, ok?

so don't lie, we know you've been driving by, checking on our
progress, going slow to see if you see any thing good... or maybe
you've been brazen enough, to climb over the gravel pit and knock on
the door.... we love it! we know you miss us, and we've been
working our booties off to get this place ready to open this week!
keep your fingers crossed that the weather stays warm and our
sidewalk gets poured wednesday. the city won't let us open 'til we
have it! we'll be open thursday!!! yeah !!! thursday october 11

work, work, work

ok, i'm sorry, but how cute is that. just the lusso crew (plus
bill!) hanging on a sunday, painting our usual 'lusso' wall at the new
space. don't worry, miss is there, she's behind the camera! so, we
wanted to prove to you all that we are working this week, not off in
mexico on the beach or something (we wish)! we're in, and actually,
we're working like dogs! we know you miss us, because we've been
getting lots of desperate calls and a few drop ins. hello, we don't
even know where a pen is! but we've been able to accommodate a few
mid-move requests, and it has made us smile, that people can't live 2
weeks without us. anyway, we are rockin' and rollin' along, and
we've gotten SO MUCH beautiful new merchandise, and our new space is
just looking gorgeous and we can't wait for everyone to see it! so
keep your fingers crossed that our sidewalk gets poured this week and
we'll be open on october 11th! can't wait.

cheers to old lusso!

so yesterday (saturday, september 22, 2007) was the last day of
business at 'old lusso' (12a n meramec).
after 5 we sat down and had a lovely glass of wine, a surprise
delivery by the wine merchant (thanks kasey!), and got a little weepy...
we laughed and cried, talked about all the friends we've gained, how
wonderful the last seven years (yes 7!) have been and how we're all
so glad to have been a part of this journey. all the fabulous
parties, all the art fair craziness, a great run in a fabulous place.
thank you, everyone, for feeling at home here, and making this not
just a great place to shop, but a nice place to hang out too.

Lusso Moving - a few tag sale items

ok, so its official - we ARE moving- here's the scoop:

this saturday - sept 22 is our LAST DAY at 12a n meramec 

we are HOPING to be open thursday oct 11th - if all the stars allign and the concrete street & sidewalk get poured!

at 165 carondelet plaza - by the fountain, across from lucianos, the plaza building, and the ritz.

our phone, website, and email should all remain the same!

so, for our last few days here, we are having a tag sale on a few items that have been asked about over the years-

if you want to stop by thursday thru saturday here's a list of floor samples that are not making the move:

We're Moving!

ok, so its a GORGEOUS day in the lou.  perfectly blue skys, cool breeze, the scent of autumn...  YEAH!  i'm soooooo ready for fall!

i love sweater and jeans weather!  we've been getting great sweaters from laurie b. and skif,  lots of charcoal and black (THE colors of fall!)  and some cute add down, a coat and a vest, expecting more from italy any day.  more beautiful grey and black from nanette lepore, too.  plus, you know we get loads of jewelry in for art fair.  maggie nola, melissa joy manning, anne sportun, marcia moran, double happiness...

anyway.... big news if you haven't figured it out, or didn't see it in the windows at the shop during art fair this weekend - its true!  WE'RE MOVING!

our beautiful new digs are being completed as we speak.  don't stress - its only a few blocks, and we're staying in clayton!  its the awesome new crescent building, just across the fountain from the ritz, luciano's and the plaza building.  we'll let you in on more of the businesses joining us at the crescent later.  

for now here's the details you need to know:

our new address is 165 carondelet plaza

we'll be open on meramec until aproximately saturday sept 22nd.

we'll probably be closed both places for about 2 weeks to facilitate the move.

we're planning (keep those fingers crossed) to be open at the new shop monday oct 8th.

don't worry, no big changes in merchandise, just lots more of all our favorites, and a few new fabulous designers, too.

our new space will be just as gorgeous and homey as this one, but also more spacious, and little more 'green' if you know what i mean.

so keep your ears open, we'll be letting you know more info soon.

so fall is finally arriving! we just got a GORGEOUS shipment of
nanette lepore for fall in charcoal, black and chocolate: including a
must-have for the season wool jumper and an amazing black frock coat!
more wear-now and transitional michael stars tops, like that cute puff
short sleeve, and a really long, slim, shine tee with kimono sleeves in
great colors. plus layering tanks in cute colors that you could wear
now alone and under everything for fall.

more of those great maggie nola hand crocheted necklaces with funky
mixed vintage pendants in beautiful colors. add to her stackable wire
bangles, too, with more charm styles in silver and gold fill.

hot enough for you???? stupid question. well, to get your mind off
your constant sweat beads i am here to let you know about all the
cool (pun intended) stuff we have just received. everyone's favorite
off- colored greeting cards O+D. if you are in need of more than a
card to show how much you care, then our delivery of Anne Sportun's
diamonds and semiprecious jewels should do the trick.(i choose not to
use the obvious "ice" pun) in case those little one's in your home
have played with their very last whatever, we have a large amount of
stuffed creatures occupying our daybed who need a new home.
i'm sure the thought of a very cute, very long-sleeved Michael Stars
top against your sticky skin may send you over the edge but, come on
in and get one and head straight to the movies or a indoor skating rink.

hello all,
so, i know pictures were promised in our next blog but our in- house
"photog" is on summer vacation. hope you can forgive me.
we just received the cutest dresses from Johnny Was and cool tees
from Dirty Pretty Dolls. we assume everyone is at that point in the
summer where the thought of putting on the same shorts and tee makes
you cringe, or it could just be me. anyway, if you need a summer
wardrobe boost we are here to help. if your boost is required in the
jewels department well, we have got you covered. Palen whose drippy
chain and semi precious earrings are always a favorite just arrived
( not even out of the box yet) !!!
we here at lusso are hoping everyones summer is going
great ,although it seems to be flying by!!! come on in and say hi to
whom ever is at the shop and not on vacation herself!!!
